Coffee in Common = Making exceptional coffee ever more common

Allways Coffee Release 012 by Coffee in Common

Allways Coffee is now 6 months old! We're just a puppy of a coffee subscription, all cute and slobbery.  What a way to celebrate a milestone than with a release from the lovely lads at Coffee in Common

Business partners, Sean and Dos have been busy for the past couple of years. They've been roasting up tasty little caffiene beans in their P Series Probat (coffee roaster) and slamming portafilters into their Mod bar espresso machine to make tasty bean juice for those coffee thirsty folk of Adelaide. Their attitude to life and coffee is similar to their roast style -  light hearted and delicious.

We asked them to produce some words from their espresso coated mouths that touch on their green coffee sourcing. Here's what came out...

"We’re all about traceability and transparency with the coffee we choose. We want to support farmers and those in coffee production as much as we can so we purchase our coffees through people that share the same beliefs. After this process, we cup and pick the coffee that we enjoy drinking! When it comes to roasting the coffee, we try to roast to showcase the quality of green as best we can. Technically we roast light/medium with a focus on not over roasting the green so we can showcase flavours unique to that region."

Let's look at what coffee's are on offer this fortnight...

Banko Gotiti, Ethiopia (Filter)

Does coffee get any better than that from it's own birthplace? We think not. This is a natural process coffee, roasted for filter brewing and it's from the Banko Gotiti washing station in the famous Yirgacheffe region. (a washing station is like a co-op for coffee farmers who don't have equipment to process their own cherries) It's boozy, rich, jammy and finishes with florals. Almost like a dessert wine that won't put you to sleep!

Carmos de Minas, Brazil (Espresso)

Did anyone order a snickers bar? melted? in a tiny cup? Well, we're all out of those BUT the next best thing is Carmos de Minas. This naturally processed Single Estate coffee from. the Sertão Estate in Minas Gerais, Brazil is a staple on Coffee in Common's menu. It performs well as in their Blend and as Single Origin it shines bright.  A more traditional espresso flavour profile with plenty of chocolate, nut and toffee like flavours.

More Juice than Zeus, (Blend)

More Juice than Zeus is the espresso blend offering, a mix of both the above coffees - Banko Gotiti and Carmos de Minas. If Zeus was the God of the sky and thunder then this blend sums it up well. Powerful enough to cut through oodles of milk, the Brazil is the thunder and lightning and the Ethiopian is the glimpse of sunshine on the horizon.  Zeus you've done it again!
